My first blog

I have been thinking about this blog for quite a few days but was not able to decide what to write about.suddenly i zeroed upon this thought. This is dedicated to God of cricket.

This is perhaps the most opportune moment to write about Sachin Tendulkar, whose bat is in full swing even in the waning phase of his career. He has been a great sportsperson, match winner, and a great human being. I am not saying that he is the best batsman of all times since India has produced the likes of Gavaskar, but he has always been humble despite his impeccable achievements. He always allows his work to speak for him. Some would remember, when Andrew caddick made some comments during 2003 CWC which were unwelcomed, Sachin retaliated by hitting him for a six over square leg. This shot remains etched in my memory in the same way as many of my fellow countrymen would remember the way Mahatma Gandhi was shot by Nathuram Godse.

Remember the days when Indian wickets would fall like a pack of cards once Sachin was out, and recently India has been drifting back to same old days.At the age of 37 he is still trying to push his boundaries, to live up to the expectations of billions of people, to keep up to their undeniable faith. He is in a constant endeavour to revive the memories of 1984 and what he gets in return is sloppy fielding, irresponsible bowling and even more irresponsible batting.

He has always performed to the best of his abilities though he is  let down several times by his team mates. This is interpreted by few people as "India loses the match if Sachin plays well".May God never ever give them a chance to utter those words again. In our country where scams have become the talk of the day, where corruption is rife, perhaps Sachin is the only person who is keeping our ideals alive. This is an earnest request from a pen pusher to the men in blue, please put up a better game for the sake of this person who is doing everything to achieve the needful.

I rest my pen here so that i could fold my hands and pray for Sachin, his team mates and pride of my motherland INDIA.
